Thread: Jeepdan's tornado teardown

The manual tells to hold the tensioner back with the fabricated tool, but doesn't give any measurements for one

Anyhow, after some fiddling around for awhile, I came up with a 1/4"x 2 1/4" long piece of a wooden paint stirring stick.
It worked fine, and was able to remove from the outside with a pair of needle nose pliers.

Timing all set, ready for the cover.

    Yea, that's my military CJ3B.
Cramped for room, I have to keep a conscious effort to not to hit it with anything while working.

nice work, wish I had money to overhaul a 230.

was the high hood a Navy Service or actual M606? Navy service are little more common in the states and don't have all the M606 features

Hey Dan It may be taking a little longer than planned but perfection does take time. Absolutely beautiful work.
I have to say that is THE nicest looking truck restoration I've ever seen.
    A hands down show-winner.
