The manual tells to hold the tensioner back with the fabricated tool, but doesn't give any measurements for one
Anyhow, after some fiddling around for awhile, I came up with a 1/4"x 2 1/4" long piece of a wooden paint stirring stick.
It worked fine, and was able to remove from the outside with a pair of needle nose pliers.
Timing all set, ready for the cover.
