I still don't think anyone has posted a pic of a 715 in Vietnam, but somewhere here, there was a pic of a 725 there.
Its pretty much agreed they were there, but only around airbases and such, not in combat, or at least not widely used in that function.

These pics are from Vietnam:
Some time back, I found and posted a few pics I had found on a site that was a verterans personal site. The site has since gone. But I did save the pics. It showed a M715 with a M60 mounted on a pedistal in the bed. It was listed as parrimter patrol at one of the air bases in 1969.
Here are the pics again

Thanks for the pics, so the M715 was in Nam, just not so much.

So far my informations were that these trucks were only used in Europe during the cold war (mainly in depots), probably on locations not directly involved to combat activities in other locations. For Nam my information was the use of the M37 and not newer models in that weight class due to spare part restriction. A lot was also used to supply NATO allies, for example Greek. As far as I know, Israel also got some (but now picture to prove from my side).
The reason is simple: The M715 series was regarded (at least in Europe by the Army) as an interim vehicle until they find a better of the shelf vehicle.

I talked to a Vietnam Vet on Saturday at a local car show - he was a maintenance sgt in Vietnam that worked on the M715s and M725s.
I asked him if he wanted to work on mine, he somewhat forcefully declined!

I have personally talked to several veterans who drove or worked on M715's in Vietnam...one is a member who has one of his own now.
We have a member in England who has documentation to prove his truck was in Vietnam with the USMC.
There are several known in Indonesia, Australia, Thailand and Laos that are running as well as several in a military scrap yard/used vehicle lot in Karachi, Pakistan...these trucks didnt get there from anywhere else but the Vietnam War.
