I heard about the Air Locker! Nobody realy showed up with an order for the lockers (M37), so I wasent doing anything. Little later I sold the whole locker buisness, someone paid me good money for it..
So when you have the axle parts for sale, what are you working on now?
I'm working on this without making easily reversible changes. It's an unusual truck, a 1960 IHC B140. Less than 1500 made in 2 years of production and this is the only one I've seen thus far that came with a regular pickup bed from the factory(gotta love having the lineset ticket). Most were outfitted as fire/utility trucks.
Curb weight is 8000 lb, gross is 11,000. At 11K, it's the lowest rated 140, which had gross as high as 17K.
With IH nomenclature, it's a 5/4 ton class(110,120,130, etc)
I just went out and took this picture, figure it was time to post a new pic of it, though a load destined for the dump is under the tarp.

I love that truck. Does it have a v-8 in it now? That paint really faded, was it Zero rust? How do you like the big NDT tires?
Yes, I mounted a 345 where the BD264 was. I picked up the 345 with a T18/D20 combo and a new clutch for $100. I spent that on just one piston for the BD264 which is in need of full rebuild. I used a Loadstar front cradle mount and a simple homemade piece to use the stock front mount location on the front crossmember, the bell mounts are in the original location, running the stock T98 so intermediate shaft is stock too.
Yes, that is Zero Rust. 75% green/25% black mix, sprayed on. It oxidized within 2 years. I like it and would use it again. I like the 'aged' look of it. I put ZR black on the chassis too. Just a power wash and spray away, not a resto in any way(I'll leave that to a future owner).
As to the NDT, well I really liked the price(mil surplus). I spent as much on new tubes and flaps as I did on the tires. I don't like the performance but I can't let loose the funds for a proper set of tires, atleast for now.

I had some Gama Goat tires on my Power Wagon, the only thing that could have had less traction was a set of drag slicks or bare rims with no tires. I sketched out a sort of directional tractor-tire sort of tread on the NDTs, and set out to cut it into them. I used a hacksaw, a utility knife and an angle grinder. After working for about 20 minutes, I removed one small piece. I tried a chain saw, worked like a charm, really, really well. So well in fact, I gave up the whole project, sold the tires, and replaced them with 38x13x16 Swampers. AWESOME. Anyway, my point is, I think cutting down a set of NDTs so they actually had traction would be easy and effective and a chainsaw would do it. I will try it on some future project. Sorry to ramble.

PS Surplus Michelins in 20" sizes can sometimes be had for cheap, if you luck out. THat would look cool.
