i remembered to take the pics last saturday, only to get home and find that my web connection had been lost. took until yesterday to get back online.

passenger side was to close to the fence for a good distance shot, but they are pretty much the same

otherwise there is really no progress to speak of. i got all the lights ready for 12V and installed some new plug wires for the BBC. next week after work sometime i will be making a sheetmetal fan shroud with the help of one of the guys i work with. also have a wiring harness on the way finally

Any idea yet of what tires you plan on using?

i will be using these tires and wheels at least to begin with. the chevy is going to loose some lift and get smaller meats. the tires are basically new, and i already have them. they are not my favorite tires in the world, but they will fit and it saves me frome buying something right now. the wheels will be getting painted untill i get some H1 wheels and recenter them.

    more has been done.

this showed up at work the other day

hammered out a mount for the fuse panel. shot some OD krylon on it

    mounted up

breaking out all of the individual wires that need to be routed together, cutting the zip ties that originally held them together and giving them the tape treatment. takes forever, but makes a nicer bundle IMO. not to mention i am a little anal about having the wires do what i want.

terminating wires. so far not much has been terminated, this is the sending unit wire. non- insulated crimp with shrink tube.

sheathed in braided loom, shrink wrapped to the end of the wire to keep it put

rear harness routed under the cab

this is where the wires for the 4X4 indicator light come in. that was not part of the harness, so i had to add it in. in hindsight i should have used different colors since green and yellow are rear harness colors already.

this is the front harness as it enters the engine compartment

had to break out the front light wires from the rest and give them the separate and tape treatment. they are routed along the top of the inner fender.

then they dissapear into the core support

    and come out here.

i got the left headlight connector soldered in tonight before i left, tomorrow i will do the front turn/park and the drivers side headlight. then it will be on to the rest of the engine bay. this is my first complete rewire, so i hope it looks good, and i hope i am doing it correct. i have a buddy that is good at this stuff, and will likely be overseeing my progress and hopefully he will get the underdash stuff done for me. i am using the stock military switches and all that jazz, so that part will be a little over my head.

    Good looking harness setup there!

Not to be nitpicky, but are you going to be happy with the placement of that fusebox? I put mine, along with the ECM for the fuel injection in the glovebox. Renders it useless for storage, but kept everything weather protected, and easy to see when you need to go in there for any reason. I just hate laying in the floor for a blown fuse with my head buried under the dashboard.
