I hope so - feels more like spinnin' wheels standin still.

Everytime I do one thing, I find 5 more. Hardest part is trying to draw the line of what I will do now and what can/should just be put off til later.

Nothing that a month off work and a couple thousand bucks wouldn't solve

Just keep in mind that it may never be easier to do now. Instead of pulling something apart down the road after it is all assembled. I know the money thing. I just bled cash for the project. I had no limits on spending I just wanted what I wanted and bought what was needed to get it done. I did, have to take my time though. I only could work on it as time allowed. Therefore it took me 6 years. But I can't just take something apart and put it back together. I have to clean, strip, repair, repaint and make it look new again.

Hear ya. I am doing a few things that are "just because" its apart. Most of the stuff that I am putting off is just bling and can be done later. Like I wish that I could put on a nice set of alum valve covers rather than putting back on the nasty steel ones, but its not gonna happen unless I find some for basically free.

Wooo Hooo - got a call from John the gear guy. He is able to make a T98/T18 hybrid for me. He said the T18 looked really nice inside. I will have a fresh gearbox with most of the bearings replaced and a new output seal. Should have it this weekend or next week if I cannot get down there (cause it is Easter and all )

Once I have the trans back I can start working on getting the engine placement and get the motor mounts in. Strengthened trans mount (ala Saxon) is in the works too.

    An Easter Seal!

Good news on the transmission. Talk about bulletproof! One less thing to worry about.

Ha - did not even think of that.

I would totally recommend John to anyone that needs trans work. A real good guy.

Super excited to get it picked up and the motor and trans installed.

    More pics to come.

Is he the guy Fish or Saxon (I can't remember which, but I think both talk about him) recommended?

Yes Tim, he professionally does big rig work for a living but does this at home, I have no problem as of yet. He re geared and added power-lok's to my diffs and rebuilt my t-98/t-18 as well as Todds and Trenton's. He has also re built a bunch of Isuzu diesel 5 speeds for me.
