Default Turn signal old style to solid state questions

I am converting an early truck with the big non solid state turn signal box to 12 volts. I want to use as much of the stock wiring and switches as possible (adding fuses, of course). It is a SBC conversion with a 700R4 and the owner wants 12 volts.
I have been doing some reading up on this and if I understand correctly, the solid state turn signal box will function fine on 12 volts. Is this the case?
I saw mentioned that there is a conversion harness and the solid state box available.
My question is what are the part numbers for the solid state box and the necessary harness to adapt it to the older style wiring? I want to make sure I'm getting the correct parts.
I have the older style spartan turn signal unit as well, so I will need to upgrade it, too.
What is the most commonly available switch that will work? (stock column)
Where is a good place to get it all?
Is there anything else specific about this conversion that I should be aware of?
    Thanks,
    Greg

    I've been looking further, and it looks like this is the part number of the kit that I need;

    2540-792-8297
    KIT, TURN SIGNAL
    TRUCK 24 VOLT
    1 EACH
This kit apparently contains all of the parts to change the older style to solid state signals. Can any one verify if this is the case?
I have had no luck finding any of them.
Does anyone know the part numbers of the individual parts?
Anyone sitting on one they'd sell, or can point me toward one?

    Thanks,
    Greg

Some partial help here, and probably stuff You have already seen.

Found a couple of old posts from 2006 and 2009 in other forums.
You have to be a member to see the images, and some of the links dont work..
But maybe some detective work will provide a source or two and diagrams.

And I'm pretty sure you already found the wiring diagrams here on the M 715 Zone:

This is just a start... But these bread crumbs may help find the path.

    Welcome to the Zone Greg.

Other members here will know a lot more.

    Default Parts

You can find the parts here. Search on the part numbers or go to "military Vehicle Parts" and then "Electrical"

    Modified with the solid state parts here;

Both my trucks have the solid state and experience has been mixed as to voltage. Sometimes mine wont flash if the truck is not running and the voltage up to snuff. Others have reported good luck on 12 volts.

I converted my truck from the older Soparton style setup to the more modern setup and documented the whole deal here:
    http://www.m715zone.com/vb/view.php?...signal_convert

It has the place I got the parts from and all the changes made...I used as much stock stuff as possible. In the parts I got to do the convert were the needed harness wires, the flasher box for under the hood and the new mil turn signal switch.

Since Greg won't formally introduce himself, I'll take a stab at it.
Greg has been restoring collectable vehicles for years.
He has an incredible amount of patience and craftsmanship when it comes to repairing, or completely making obsolete panels by hand.

If you want to see what kind of work can go into restoring the sheet metal of a M715 check out his face book page.

Those number in the first photo above are the frame stamping numbers for that piece from the factory...chased them down years ago for someone who thought they were his vin number possibly...they were usually stamped once or twice as:

    35
    242

35 on the first line and 242 centered underneath on a second line...but it is all part of one number.
