ok, so I trying to mock up my full size bumper so I can cut it and make it a winch bumper, but it doesnt fit very well, I bolted the frame extensions on, have the winch bolted up to the rear bolts, and am trying to fit the bumper on to scribe the holes I have to drill but.......
even though the bumper lays on the frame extensions pretty close, the whole assy is too low, and needs to come up so the bumper lays on the bumper brackets bolted to the winch. if I lay the bumper on the winch brackets, then the frame extensions are too low. the bolts fit well into the frame, but there is no slop for movement. what are my options???
use 7/16ths bolts in the frame extensions to the frame? wich will allow me to raise up the extensions so the bumper lines up with the winch brackets?
loosen the rear upper bolts on the wick until it lines up with the front bumper? then shim the rear brackets?
or just over drill everything and start fitting? the extensions are not original to the truck, so I dont know how much I am over engineering this project.
Thanks
Duane
will post some pics on my progress on the rest of the truck later tonight
