Paint colors
Did the M715 ever get painted something other than OD green?
Like Navy grey or Blue?
I'm at the point I am going to have to decide what color I'm going to paint the truck as I begin putting it back together and I would like to do something other than green or a fire dept color but still reflect it's military roots.

Mine at one point i think was civil air patrol and has a blue coat on it inside the cab

Barman or Brute4c will Be Your Guy on this....
Beast actually has a lot of the History down pat
and I think He wrote a White Paper History on it as well.
We have seen a grey version, but I cant give the specifics.
Here are the rapco paint colors available:

Mine's got the OD covered in blue...like you would see on a WWII plane in the Pacific. Someone here suggested it may have been Civil Air Patrol at some time. I wish the USAF had blue trucks back then as I would love to have mine unique as well. I also want to restore it correctly according to period scheme.

Brute4c, Beast and others have a LOT of good information here about the proper stenciling and markings.
I didnt see anything about Navy in there, but well worth a read.
I would PM Beast, and get the low down on alternate colors.
Navy, Air Force, possibly the SeaBees.
the Navy Used BLACK Stenciling
I think Desert Tan is out...

The White Paper article from Beast is one
that David Doyle used when he wrote in MVM .
I dont have a copy available.

That truck pictured above was most definitely grey and was a former Navy truck...looked decent in my book.

Pretty much everything came from the factory in OD green and once it was transferred to a different branch then it would be painted over in the color that branch used. The Air Force used Strata Blue on non combat vehicles and the Navy used Grey on on-base vehicles. There were also a variety of interesting camos used.

Air Force
Air Force truck unmodified. This was for sale at Aberdeen a few years ago. The seller bought it surplus many years ago and had it in a shed ever since.
