Thread: fuel can location

  1. #1

    Default fuel can location

I ve noticed that on some m715s they have a carrier & jerry can mounted on the passanger side, I thought the jerry can was only on the drivers side. It would make sense to mount one on the right side, my 725 has one on each rear door,

The drivers side was factory, however when a radio set was installed the ant. went in that spot an required relocation of the gas can mount to passenger side. At least according to all the radio installation instructions.

Radio sets were one reason...some put another on just to add more reserve...I have seen members go looking for the holder to add it for that reason...

I put a jerry can on the passenger side of my 715, but, you will also need a new footman loop for the top on that side as well to secure the can to the bed. Its there from the factory on the drivers side, but not the passenger side.

The strap goes through the carrier and then the footman loop around the can so it secures it both to the carrier and the bed side.

I wanted to put a Mermite can on the passenger side, but it wouldn't fit. The Gerry can on the passenger side really balances out the truck in my opinion, so on it went.

Same here. It really looks like it belongs there. So it is!
