    Default Tow Bar Adaptor Measurements

I let the last set I saw on E-Bay go without even bidding for $76.00. ( thought about 20 of you were waiting to snipe it at $150 or so and figured to just watch.) That was months ago and I haven't seen any since. So, I am going to build a set.

I have metal the correct thickness to go into my tow bar feet and I have metal the same thickness as the shackle hooks. I have pictures of the adaptors and can figure out pretty close what size they should be. But, I don't know exactly.

It looks like 3"x3" on each leg going into the bumper, 3" between the two thru bumper legs, 3"x3" on the part that the shackle hook can be moved to and then from measuring my M35 tow bar/shackle mounts I think 2"x2" on the round front part to be about right.

Can anybody with a set measure them and tell me if I am waaaay off?

    Thanks

I will...good thinking to make your own and to get the measurments on the site...they will only get harder to find.

Give Raymond and I a few and we will have it for you.

This came up in a wanted add today. Instead of messing up the add thread, I brought this one back from the dead. I ended up getting a set of real feet instead of building my own. The main reason being liability.

If a manufactured, non modified part breaks when I am using it in the prescribed manner. That is totally different than an experimental home built critical link to connecting two vehicles together.

    Just my opinion.

However, I also added a set of M35 rear shackle hook mounts to the top of my M715 before I bought the proper M715 adaptor feet. So, I can use the tow bar either way. I like the M715 feet best because they make a great step while working under the hood.

Here is the thread about the M35 mounts:
