Thread: Rebuilt fuel pump

    Default Rebuilt fuel pump

Guys I need some help. Fuel pump was leaking fuel into oil pan. Truck ran fine.
I rebuilt the fuel pump and now can not get any fuel to carburetor. I bought a replacement pump from auto zone just to try and still no fuel to carburetor. Is there any secret to getting the pump to prime? I can pour some gas in carburetor and truck will run for a few seconds. Plenty of fuel in tank and at fuel line to pump. Any suggestions?
    Thanks,

If your not getting fuel to the carb. sock clogged in the tank. I blew mine out with shop air reverse of normal flow. Also rubber fuel lines can suck air and not leak fuel, losing your prime. One on top of the tank and another drivers side frame. The latter had me confused for a couple hrs on my truck.
