Default Found my other oil leak..among many.

First I replaced the valve cover gasket..that took a lot of it away..

Then while i was checking the fluids in the tranny tcase and diffs, I discovered that there are 5 bolts missing from the oil pan!!!

Theres my other leak..I cant believe im missing that many. OH well..

Can you use silicone or do you need to use a gasket for the oil pan?

it would be best to use a gasket, w/o the space taken up by a gasket the fit at the ends where the rubber curved seals go wont be good. since just silicone would allow the pan to go right up to the block possibly distorting the pan at the end seals or crushing the end seals

    Ditto that.

The older stuff doesn't like RTV. The gaskets are still the way to go.....
