Default Gas dripping out of air cleaner horn

My 715 has been sitting for 2 years while I did the frame and body. The engine is stock. When I started it up after it had idled for 15 minutes it started dripping gas very slowly out of the air cleaner horn. The paper filter element is dry. It appears to be coming possibly from the vent hose to the fuel pump. Has anyone experienced this? Is there a fix?

Try to remove the air filter housing and track the fuel to a specific hose or source. I agree with you that the fuel pump diaphram is probably the culprit. Check your engine oil level before you start it again. It could also be pumping your block full of fuel.
Remember if you didn't build it you can't call it yours.

The oil level is okay at the moment. I have a new diaphram that came with the truck when i bought it. I'll just go ahead and change it out and see if that cures it. Thanks.

I had the same problem....the fuel pump diaphragm was toast...had it rebuilt and end of problem. Personally, I'd go electric because inevitably that is where I wound up after the rebuilt stock one crapped out about a year after having it rebuilt!

I replaced the fuel pump diaphram. That took care of the problem. Thank you for your advice
