    Default 12v-24v

Most of the discussions I remember talked about how to step down to 12 from 24 volts. I need to step up to 24 volt from 12 to run my air horns. That is it, just the air horn solenoid.

I have tried semi truck places for 12 volt air solenoids and haven't found anything for less than $75.00 that will work.

    Thanks

Tim, did you try the 24v solenoid on 12v?

Like the flashers, it may not make a difference. If it doesn't, you may be able to rewrap the coil with app 2x as much wire. I'd try it, I've made a couple of my own coils to open AC s-valves the same way.

Doug, both the solenoid I got from Chris at WITC and both the ones that came with my two Gassers will only work on 12V went the psi is below about 12. As you know, it sounds like a wounded duck at that psi.

    Samlex makes them...

    Hopefully that is enough output...

I know they sell to dealers, not the public...except their refurbished units...I dont see one like you need in the refurb section right now...you can check it from time to time by mousing over Products in the left hand menu and then selecting Refurbished from that menu.
