Thread: Pan Gasket

    Default Pan Gasket

I finishing up a rear main seal replacement and found that the Felpro pan gasket set I have isn't exactly right, although probably just needs some modification. The main thing is that it is designed to be inserted between the rear blocking plate halves, but I don't think that is correct for this engine. The other difference is the rubber end seal, which doesn't wrap around into the groove between the blocking plate halves, but the rear sea came with two rubber pieces that go there, so I'm assuming I just have to trim the gasket so it doesn't extend between the blocking plate halves, and the usual dab of rtv seals between the three parts of the seal.

    Do I have this right?
