    Default Wheel Cylinders on Ebay

Wheel Cylinders posted on ebay are incorrect, well most of them, as some have pointed out, some of the more recent ones have the incorrect bore diameter.

well I purchased two left side cylinders back in january, inspected them, but not enough, as it turns out the following
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/M715-Jeep-Gl...f3615b&vxp=mtr

is incorrect for our trucks, they have a 1-1/4"bore, are longer, and the bolt holes don't quite line up. I have since contacted the seller, and figured I would post a heads up here, in case anyone has ordered recently.

as I told the seller, the FSN for our trucks is 2530-933-3584, left; 2530-927-3316, right. his FSN for the left cylinders are 2530-889-1668

in fact he happens to have several new stock cylinders for sale, but they are also incorrect. don't want to judge him too much, but more research before a sale should be considered

hope this helps someone...although not in a great way

Thank you very much. I had purchased some left side wheel cylinders in the past (not from this vendor) and just used them last week. They were OK but these obviously are NOT. I noticed that the FSN did not match the correct cylinder.

Maybe if we can still use the Chinese wheel cylinders from Newstar and replace the rubber parts with vintage Wagner-Lockheed 1-1/16" rubber parts, we MAY be OK.

Again, Thanks. I was about to buy some of them! There is another vendor who has wheel cylinders that he/she says are for our trucks. But they are 1" and that is not correct either ... as we know.

Why don't you get them from Memphis Equipment? That's where I got mine along with new nos drums at the time.

most all vendors sell New, which are of the New Star brand, and most reviews I've seen say they all leak within a year, I mean It probably is the only way to go without modifications at this time though

I think that I got mine from AB Linn. But it may have been Memphis.

And that has been my exact experience as well. I am trying a new tactic for the right side since I can't get them NOS. I have rebuilt the NewStar cylnders with NOS Wagner-Lockheed 1-1/16" rubber parts. The outside boot seems to be OK and can be re-used. Time will tell.

I did an eBay search for "1-1/16" wagner wheel" and it yielded various Raybestos and Wagner rubber cups. That may be an option for vintage wagner rubber parts. I suspect the rubber, albeit old, is far superior to the Sino parts inside of the NewStar cylinders.

    Just a thought though.
