Thread: Cargo Top Bow Corner question

  1. #1

Default Cargo Top Bow Corner question

The wood thickness of the staves and the bows are 7/8", and the pocket size of the sheet metal corners, are large enough to accept wood that could be 1 1/8 thick.

My question is, am I to tighten down the 5/16" pan head screws until the metal is squeezed down to the wood?

No, dont distort the metal...if you ever have to replace one, they are a bear to get out without making more distortion...get them snug and call it good.

Good idea, I think I will slide some flat washers under the side with the nuts.

    Default Another question

While admiring my handy work last night, I noticed that something didn't look quite right with the one cargo top bow that I had installed.

The flat with a hole where a buckle would be attached, does it go towards the top or the bottom near the stave?
I have one up, and one down.

I used M35 corners for mine. Don't use my pictures for M715 accurate estimations.
