Thread: Factory Hole?

  1. #1

    Default Factory Hole?

This hole in the floorpan is behind the driver's seat and seems to be factory. Just curious if it is in fact factory and if so, what's its purpose and where to find a plug for it?

I just noticed the critter handprint!

    Thanks,
    Shaun

I don't have a hole there on my truck. However, it is there on the truck belonging to Sermis. Which is kind of backward since I think my truck had the 100 Amp alternator for a radio truck set up and his truck didn't have a cut valence which is the tell tale of the 100 amp cooler mount.

Ace or your favorite box supply store are wonderful places to find things that fit in holes like that. Or, you could just cut some metal and weld it up.

What Tim said is good, but I don't think the critter that made that print came through that hole.

You may try looking in the electrical department for what many call a push penny. They come in many sizes. They may also be called a hole closure. They are used to fill unused holes in electrical boxes. That hole looks to be about a 1-1/4" diameter?

Mine has that hole...when I moved the batteries to the bed, that became the likely place to, after closing the hole up about half way, to put a 'through firewall' connector to bring power into the cab.

That critter print appears to be pretty big. Looks like maybe a racoon print. As weird as this sounds, looking at it again, it almost looks like a small bears foot print?

Is it for routing the power to the bed for radios?
I'm 30 miles away from my trucks right now, but isn't there a knockout on the front wall of the cargo bed that is in approximate alignment with this.
