When I use my truck's stock heater (fresh air knob and heat knob pulled all the way out,) I get the smell of exhaust inside the cab. The heat works, but it won't do me any good if I'm inhaling exhaust too. Anybody have any insight on this?

Disconnect heater inlet duct from engine exhaust.
Sorry, I couldn't resist... never heard of that problem before. Do you have an exhaust leak at the manifold collector?
No idea. I haven't done a thorough check yet. Wasn't sure if it was a common thing or not. I'll go through the system when I have some free day light.
Probably an exhaust leak under the hood, manifolds, pipe etc coupled with a hole in your heater intake hose. Could be a loose clamp etc but if you work through it you should be able to locate the trouble. I would start at the very beginning of your heating system and follow all the way back, loking for deteriorated components. If your truck is leaking exhaust under the hood you are likely stuck with the problem until you fix the leak.
Thanks. I'm hoping to get back under the hood this weekend. Hopefully it's an easy fix.
Tightened up my manifold today. Seems to helped a bit. Going to check out the rest of the system tomorrow.
Glad it got alittle better, as that can be dangerous.
