Default NOS Coil For The Ignitor

It appears that "italylovers", a seller on eBay who sells items from VPW has a 24 Volt coil for sale. It looks to be NOS not that new Chinese stuff that often fails.

Check it for yourself to be sure if you are interested. I have no affiliation with the seller.

That's a good find Don. A little concerned with the rust at the top, but it sure looks to be NOS. I may throw a bid on it. I would think anything around $40/50 would be good.

I paid $60 for a good used one. Came from a guy near Philadelphia. It was in good condition as well as good cosmetic condition. He checked it with an ohm meter to be sure it was not open. I think that the same coil from a 3/4 ton truck is the same, both 6 cylinder.

My coil that came with the truck would not allow you to start up after a shut down. You had to wait about 20 minutes and then it would start. Truck is now here in Florida, yeah a little hot and the problem seems to be fixed. And yes, the coil in question was chrome plated and it was thrown into the rubbish can... gone!

Before I sold all my parts to FNG, I purchased a good coil from the guy in Turkey. Cost was $25 ans about the same for shipping. Never did install it.

The NewStar coils are a hit and miss. I bought a couple and one was good and one was bad.

Same here. Junk. I had a big problem returning them also. Many of the usual sellers peddle them as NOS.

No doubt. I had my experience with one of those Chinese coils as well. I have an old one in my ignitor now and an NOS ignitor so I am set. Ron, I know you have one too

Same here with the New Star coils, hit or miss. I OHM'ed out 2 of them and got different readings neither were the same but both ran the truck, go figure.

I picked up an original style coil years ago that was 12v, I think Brett Mullins had them, wish I would have gotten a spare, it has been in the truck as a brush truck for 6 or 7 years, and I have put 1000 miles on it since Ive owned it, am always wondering how good the quality is.
