My new 715 that I just finished building
Post by beast on Jul 21, 2006, 9:30am

I now have a second M715. I had to completely build this one from the ground up. Scavenged parts from several different places to put this one together. It's not perfect but it's as close as I could get.

    Ok, it's in 1/18 scale

It was build from several different 1/18 scale models including a Jeep Wagoneer for the front half, a Dodge WC56 for the wheels and drivetrain, and a M151 for M-series parts like lights and dash pieces and seats. The box and quite a bit of other pieces where all hand built from scratch. It features functioning doors, hood, stearing, troop seats, folding windshield, and a removable soft top, and a seperate removable soft top frame. It was painted to be a copy of my 1/1 scale M715.

Looks fantastic! You need to glue an extra lug nut on all the rims though (just kidding).

Ok, that's just too freakin' neat. It looks like you'll be forced to start an assembly line on this one.

    that's pretty sweet!

I always wondered if those Wag kits could be bashed into an M715... Nice work!

I don't know if I'm ready yet to start production on them. Between the cost of the 3 donor vehicles I cut apart to get all the needed parts, plus all the supplies for making the scratch built items I have around $200 into it. I've been working on this for quite a while now (longer that it took me to restore my real M715) but kept getting distracted by other projects. The deuce restoration and having twins and building a 1900 square foot addition onto out house to make room for the twins took all my time from this project.

That is great! I too have always wondered if it could be done. I don't have the patience to to that myself.

I had planned to take progress pics along the way to show how it was built, but never remebered to grab the camera once I started to work on it. It wasn't hard, just took time to build and to think out.
