    Default Manufacturing cab top bows

I am in the process of making cab top bows at work in my spare time. Mr. Brute4c has graciously loaned me one of his originals as a pattern. I have acquired the correct material, specifically 16 gauge, electrically welded tubing, one inch OD.

I decided it was easier to put the broad bend into it before the sharper ends. I used a 1 inch manual die roller assembly (not sure what it is called) and pre-bent all the stock.

Here is some laying on the workbench at home before the ends are bent. I left the others at work today that I bent the ends on. Will get them home tomorrow and get photos.

If any one wants some of these, let me know. I'd like to get an idea of how much material to get.

Well, here's what they look like with the two sharper bends. Now all I need to do is trim the length of the ends.

I'll sell them for 50 bucks a set of two, plus shipping, of course. Probably a oversize UPS charge, but not sure.

Success is achieved!! Got the ends cut to length, and installed the top bows. Here's a top view.

Here's a side view as well.

It's always nice to intall parts, one more thing closer to being done I guess.

I made some patterns from the original, and made three sets for now, I am going to get more tubing and make like 20 sets. I'll post in the for-sale section when they are available. It does look like they ship UPS without oversize fees. I was hoping that my workplace would order more steel from the place I get the tubing, but as slow as it is right now, it doesn't look like that will happen, so I'll have to drive the 45 minutes to get the material.

    Thanks for waiting a bit.
