Thread: Cargo Height?

  1. #1

    Default Cargo Height?

I know this information must already be here somewhere - but I have searched for over an hour, and I am no closer to an answer. (I do now know that from the pavement, to the top of the cargo cover should be 87.7")

So, yes - I know there is a search function. I feel ashamed to ask...

With the cargo cover installed, how tall is the cargo bed?

I found a diagram over on Steel Soldiers for the deuce (the deuce is 60").

I'm not sure what you are asking
Do you want the dimension from the cargo bed floor to the cargo top bows (head room)?
Or from the garage floor to the top of the canvas at the cargo top bows?

Cargo floor to the top of the bows.

The ridges in the bed of the truck change the measurement a bit.
I measured up against the cab, at the front bow, using a high point in the bed ridges... not a valley.

From a high ridge in the bed of the truck, to the bottom of the wooden bow is 54 and 1/4 inches. ( headroom measurement )

From a high ridge to the top of a wooden bow is 55 and 1/8 inches.

keep in mind, there are metal bars that connect the bows together at the top.

So from a high ridge to the TOP of these metal bars connecting the wooden bows is 55 and 3/4 inches. ( I measured in the center of a metal bar, because the ends are flat for the connecting hardware )

    This should get you close.

I have a feeling most trucks will vary, as it depends on how smashed the bed is, and how secure the uprights for the bows are secured in the bed.

    You're welcome, anytime.

As I side note, I did notice that M 105 trailer bows go straight across....

Some people making their own bow sets , use these trailer bows. FWIW, if that applies to your project

What is the length of the short stave that fits between the bow and inserts into the troop seat support? That may help when it comes to the correct height.
