    It's kind of weird that the correct Primary Resistance of a M715 coil is too low to be used with the Pertronix unit that it was designed for. according to their instructions.
    Like I said, I'm using a NOS coil that has a higher Primary Resistance than normal according to the Factory Manual.

    Maybe one of our electronics guys can weigh in on this.

    My thoughts throughout this entire coil fiasco has been that maybe, just maybe the Chinese coils need a ballast resistor in series with the positive terminal. The original ignitors had a ballast resistor according to the illustrations in the TM. Could it be that the Chinese engineers used the specs from an original coil?

    The symptom has always been that the truck would start when cold and run OK. If shut down (or stalled) it had to just sit until it cooled down. Mind you, I went through this problem with mine.

    Just a thought...
