I posted some pictures of this under construction last week. I really haven't done much more to it. But, I am going to leave it like this. I hooked the trailer up to it last night and drove it around with my '66 K20 on it. It did good and the pintle hook worked great with the safety chains bolted together and run through it.

I haven't ground it down or prettied it up any. I did spray some paint at it while I was painting the cab over the weekend to prevent surface rust.

This is the view from the driver side rear.

Tim, do you still have access to the grease fitting underneat for the pintle hitch? I can't tell.

No I don't. I realized last week when I was planning this out that the grease fitting isn't there. I have never had access to it and last week was the first time I seriously looked for it. Somebody broke the Zerk fitting off years ago. I have a buggered up hole with a blade of hay sticking through it. I figured it couldn't get much worse and welded up my hitch. My pintle has never rotated without a 6' pole for help. If I need it to rotate someday, I will unbolt it, remove it, clean it and the mount before I reinstall it with lots of grease.

No doubt, that if the pintle were out, one could figure out the best spot, either on the rear near the pintle hook or on the front by the nut, to drill in at an angle, thus hitting the "grease reservoir", and then install a new zerk....

I know those welds aren't that good looking. I turned it up a little hotter than needed to ensure penetration on those overhead welds. I also turned the wire speed up a little more than the amps required.

I am better with my old stick welder using 7018 rods on overhead than I am with the MIG.
