    Default Best aftermarket rocker panels?

    Fellas,

I need to replace one of my rocker panels - the full length passenger side. Who sells the most accurate reproduction rocker? I'd rather spend a few bucks more for a better quality one if possible. I'd like it to match the stock one on the drivers side - I am pretty anal when it comes to doing my bodywork.
FYI...I purchased a floor panel from Jeep Panels Plus out of Maine and was not impressed with it at all...I wound up reselling it and made a patch panel myself. I wasn't real impressed with the quality and am hesitant to buy a rocker from them.
I want to hear from members who recently bought a rocker and INSTALLED it - not hearsay etc. Pictures would be great too if you have any from your install.

There are several threads on the site of people doing this...some real good pics too of the whole process...

I think the best part is from Jeep Panels Plus...you can email them at:

    Default Rustys

I think I got mine from Rustys Jeep. It's been a few years. Its fit well and was about the same gauge as the one it replaced

My body guy just installed mine - said they worked fine, but not quite as heavy as the original sheet metal, but fit well.

I bought a pair off of e-bay for a Cherokee FSJ. They fit fine with a bit of trimming, but all I needed was the outer skin anyway.

The main reason a lot of cheaper patch panels don't fit particularly well is because they are not really designed to be a replacement, but rather to go over top of the rusted panel. Generally they are a bit larger and won't line up once you cut out the damaged part of what you're replacing.

I just installed a drivers' floor pan in a 1980 Ford F350 truck, and it was made to go over the existing floor as a patch. With a lot of careful trimming and fitting it worked as a repair panel, but not as clean as a true floor pan replacement panel.

I bought a new dealer rocker for a 1969 waggie a couple years back. It was 160.00 and might be able to be cut down. Finding another could be interesting.

There is a guy on IFSJA that does very nice repro panels for waggie floors which means they will fit the M715 also. He went by GEMOBX or GEMBX or something like that. They looked high quality. He might have moved on to rockers by now. You could PM him and ask.

1963-1991 FSJ's all use the same rocker panel.
