Thread: General information

    Default General information

New to the site and to the M715 family...just had some curious questions...

    1. do you lock the front hubs in or are they "full time" until engaged from
    the cab.

    2. is there any way to get a higher speed out of a stock setup...replacing the
5.86 gears keeping the original axels? would like to get around 65 mph.

    3. Mine has a hole in the driver fender and was thinking that was for the
snorkel attachment but the previous owner said it was for some sort of
battery jump start. it has one big hole on the fender along with 4
screw holes (2 on the fender and 2 on the flare). if it is the snorkel setup
does anyone know where to get an original one?

    Thanks in advance!

    Welcome.

    1. Fixed unless you install locking hubs.
    2. Yes, you can regear them.
    3. Likely snorkel if the holes are on the flare too. Vintage Power Wagons used to have the snorkels for sale.

changing from 900-16 to 1100-16 will add some to the top end without regearing.

I think the snorkel tube is 3.5" or 4" diameter. The slave cable connector (battery jumper) is usually on the passenger fender or behind the passenger door.

    Default

that is the tire size. 900-16 is the stock tire size. 16" wheel and 9" wide.
