    Default Power steering pitman arm

I have looked and not been able to find the part number and make of that one pitman arm which works for the power steering box install. Anyone have it handy? I think I must be blind today because I know I saw it just last week in a thread. At least I think I saw it.

    Thanks.

What power steering box did you use?

Doesn't the original M715 pitman arm swap right over to the J-20 power box?

Thanks Steve. As soon as I saw the BJ's offroad, I remembered. This is for the 6BT truck Sermis is still waiting for.

I know my stock pitman arm did not swap over to the Saginaw box when I did that conversion 14 or 15 years ago.

Doing a 6BT install right now as well. Did you use a J-20 series power steering box or 90's Durango snow plow prep box or?

Any saginaw box. The boxes with "76" on them are supposed to be the schiznitz. Faster ratio or something like that.

J20 or Durango boxes have a larger piston diameter, thus are more powerful.

For what its worth regarding boxes... and back to the original topic at hand...pitman arms....

I have written down in my build research notes....

" 79'-88'ish Ford Bronco Pitman Arm - 1/2 cost and same thing"

My build sheet in excel has written down a 1998 Dodge Durango w/ snow plow package for a steering box and a 1985 Ford Bronco pitman arm

Price check on Rock auto is

$15.52 for the 1985 Ford Bronco 5.8L pitman arm
$164.79 for the 1998 Dodge Durango 5.9L w/ snow pkg steering box

Has anyone used the red head steering boxes from bjs? Just curious if they are better than stock or how they stack up to an AGR box

Nothing against them.. but they (red heads and AGR) are just rebuilds... no different than any of the other vendors on rock auto/local parts house.

I'd have a hard time paying double though for one of the RedHead or AGR's over an normal part house reman....
