Thread: Wagner Dual Master

    Default Wagner Dual Master

    Looks like the Wagner dual master most of us use is out of production. The number was/is F66857 or MC66857. NAPA number 96246. No one has it anymore except Rock Auto. Amazon says no longer available and the usual autoparts places say the same.

    Is there another one that fits the same?

    I believe I used one for a 1976 corvette.
    Non power disc/disc version.

    I used a Dorman M56193
    It is a direct fit to the M715, with a 1" bore, used in 60's-early 70's AMC and Jeep

    Looks like the Wagner except the ports are on the opposite side.

    Except in the first picture, the ports are on the left side! Gosh, I wonder which side they REALLY are on?

    Just checked the Dorman site. They are the same pictures!!! Hmmm....

    Alright, I guess that I should have provided pictures LOL

    The fittings on the inner side might be a annoyance to work around.
    But, it is a direct fit to the firewall and pedal assembly.

    Always an alternative if all else fails. I would have to retube the lines to the other side. It was a pain bending them on the left!!!

    Old thread, I know. Dan, can you re-post your photos of how you plumbed the brake lines? I'm about to replace my entire brake system, and I'd like to go with a dual master. Also, is there anything else that needs to be done to use this master, such as adjusting the brake push rod, etc.

    Sure, no problem at all. Glad to help.

    Rear Brakes: Remove the rear axle supply brake line from the rear hole of the brass junction block, and then connect to the front port of the new dual master cylinder.

    Front Brakes: Then run a 1/4" line (it's the green line in picture) from the rear port of the new dual master cylinder down to that rear hole of brass junction block.

    The top hole of the brass junction block gets plugged, after removing the old supply line from the original single circuit master cylinder.

    No adjustment is needed to the original pushrod.
