Best answer was from the store manager in Erie, Pa., he told me he could order them, but he'd have to order 12 packages of 4.
Basically, the O'Reilly thing IS a bust.
But, the local Napa can get the 2407 plugs for around $8.00 ea., special order. So, at least they are obtainable.
That was my experience as well. So, I guess I should go to my NAPA store and see where it goes. I have enough of the longer ones. But the 2407 would make life so easy. If I get a chance, I will report my results.

When you go into any parts store, I always look for the old timer working the counter who looks like he has seen everything and knows what he is doing. When one of the pimple face kids asks me if I need anything I usually just say no and wait for the old timer. He's the one who will know not to try and look it up on the computer screen, but instead drags the old books out to find the numbers you are looking for. I have the guys at my local Napa trained, they don't even bother to ask me what it's going on anymore, but instead ask me what part number I need. The nice thing about my local Napa is that it is a small town Napa that has been in the same building 50+ years and some of the counter guys have been there almost as long.

I just returned from my local NAPA store in Maryland. I got a dozen Autolite 2407 plugs. They had to order them and it took about 5 days. I had to pay shipping but where don't you pay shipping?

They were $8.69 each and $10.00 shipping for 12 of them. I am happy!
