    Default First Road Trip

Drove 170 miles yesterday. 170 loud, slow, windy miles in 4 1/2 hrs without a single problem.

    Seen along the way:

The prodigal son returns to the nest:

Not one problem on the trip. I didn't expect that.

    Good truck.

Oh, I wish that was mine. It's owned by a buddy, and a member here many years ago.

The only fly in the ointment was a tube failure, which happened on my way into a gas station in Wheatland. Luckily, it didn't happen the night before while I was cruising the outback in a really remote place.

I can thank the DeSoto Fire District for my truck's color. Terry Bison Ranch seems to paint every old truck, trailer, etc., on the place that same electric red: I saw several deuces that color while I was driving by.

See "tube failure" above, Jon. I've had crap luck with tires of all sorts lately, and if they all went to solid rubber tomorrow, I'd buy an air chair, make an earnest attempt at doing cartwheels, and let the rejoicing begin.
