    Default Rear axle u-bolt size

Anyone have the u-bolt size on hand for the rears? I had to cut mine off to get them off. Took off the 10 leaf springs. Rebuilt them with some springs from Fisherman. Left out the smallest spring.

Gonna bolt them back up but don't know what size u-bolts I need to get.

I know the outside one will need a bend.

I think 9/16 s not sure on the length, I can get a measurement tomorrow. The bend was easy in a huuge vise.

Did you use the slip plate?

Yup - used the slip paint.

They are a hug diff in size from the beasts I pulled off. That alone should make a huge difference.

If you used a coat or two of slip plate liberally, I think you'll notice a huge difference.

Heres the whole set of numbers from the "more than you needed" file...

    9 inches top to bottom
.463 inch diameter on the bare threads, .465 inch diameter on the shank, over primer.
3 5/8 inch inside of the U, left to right.
    1 7/8ths inch of threads.
7 1/8th inch from end to start of threads.
    Fine threads.

Should do it...funny the threads are over 7/16ths/.435 and just under 15/32nds/.46875

    What size is that?

Wow thanks. No idea what size that is. Prob some military spec

As long as I get some that are 3-5/8" inside and at least 9", I should be good.

    31/64=.484375....little too big for .464
    29/64=.453125
15/32=.468...close as one can get without going to 128ths....but we would be looking for a 16th at finest as where do you get a 15/32nds bolt or anything in 64ths?
