    Default Still here

Hello to all Zoners, I am still a member of this fine group, just haven't been very active on the website. My truck is doing fine after the installation of a new head gasket. Ran great all summer, did the usual parades and Friday/Saturday cruise nights in the area.
Winter has blown in to northern Illinois so the truck is pretty much put away until spring. Maybe an occasional short drive if the streets are dry and not full of salt. Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving.
Sorry for the inactivity on the Zone and hope to be more active again. Thanks.

Welcome "back", well actually, you never left. I understand completely. I have been in the same boat with going to Australia to help my daughter for most of the year... for a couple of years. And moving to Florida and then moving again across the street, well, it takes time. I am almost done moving to Florida.

So, I understand but more importantly, I am delighted to hear that your truck is running well. Mine sat for about 7 months. It did take a while to get the gas back up into the carburetor. But after it did, it ran well.

But... it is pulling to the left when I put on the brakes. No doubt, another leaky wheel cylinder. Most likely from non use. I haven't had time to take the wheel off yet. Soon...

    Good to hear from you!

Good to hear from you, and glad that it was only a head gasket.
Sounds like you had a pretty good summer.

Yea, my truck is pretty much put away until spring as well.
No way will I drive it in the salt.

Wow, you guys got me feeling guilty that I disappeared for a while. Thanks for the warm welcome back. I've been retired since May 1st 2011 and I still can't find time do do all I want. I do handyman work and most all my customers are older then I am. They always have something for me to do. That's no real excuse though. Maybe I just needed a break and also my truck was down for so long, my spirit just wasn't into talking about our trucks. Anyway, all is good now, except for the weather. Truck is in garage and unless it dries up outside, it'll stay there. Thanks again for welcoming me back. This site is the best.
