    Default Bridge Plates redux

I'm in the process of completing my M715, and have a bridge plate decal (4), to apply. My question is this: Is the 4 a weight classification, similar to the DOT system of classification? (class 1, 1/2 ton, class 2, 3/4 ton, class 8, semi-tractor , etc.) It would make sense that the 715 was a four, being a 5/4 ton class vehicle. Anyone know if this is the case?

    Hey Scott:

The vehicle weight rating was a NATO standard so you could know what bridges and roads the vehicle could be used on.

    For reference please look up:
    FM 5-36
    DEF STAN 23-2
    Military Vehicles Magazine Issue 88

It is a weight standard number. Check out yellow 04 on the door of 715
    Come and take it
Go work at joann fabrics if you can't shoot a gun
