Default Progress Report on the Hercules Powered M715

Sorry guys for not posting in a while. Been busy putting the truck back together. It will be my daily driver when it is finished. Here is what done and planned:

<> Installed take off inner and outer driver front fender
<> Installed inner and outer front end with new lights and directionals
<> Installed take off Rino Grill
    <> Installed two new rockers
<> Reinstalled winch and supports (what a pain!!!0
<> Fab'd new winch bumper (no happy with it)
    <> Installed new seats
<> Painted (with Rust-Free) the cab floor black
<> Power-wired brushed the wheels and repainted
    <> Installed Steering Stablizer
<> Power-wired brushed the entire pickup bed
    <> Line-x Spray-on Bedliner installed (see footnote)
<> Power-wired brushed and sanded entire truck (outside of tailgate left)
    <> Primed entire truck
<> Change all fluids (Amsoil 5-30 in Hercules)

    Need to complete....

<> Install Power Steering this week with the help of a local Jeep shop.
<> Sand and prime the tailgate
<> Remove Bed and paint frame and underside of Bed with Rust-Free
<> Paint Cab (Fire Engine Red) with the help of my body-shop buddy
<> Paint Pickup Bed (Fire Engine Red)
<> Fab new rear bumper to house new oval LED directionals and brake lights
<> Return to the Line-X shop and have the fender flares and rockers sprayed black (same color as the inside of the bed
<> Return to the LIne-X dealer to have the fiberglass hardtop sprayed black
<> Work on a power brake setup, somewhat of a challange as I have no vaccum from the diesel

I think that about it for now. Completion is schedule for September. On the road now and I love driving the truck, will love it more later this week when the P/S is installed.

Footnote: The Line-X product is incredible!! Prior to the application, my bed was a rusty (surface) mess with many dings and deep scratches. All of them gone except for on in the bed floor. This stuff is applied at 155 degrees and it looks and will hold up great!

Here are a few pics right after the bedliner was applied.

Not OD Green...What The Heck!?? Just funning there. Bed looks really good. Looks like that stuff will keep it from getting to beat up. How did you apply it. Spray or roller? What do you mean it will apply @ 155*? Do you need to heat the bed up to that point or do you mean you can be in the desert and apply it in direct sun?

Looking good. Give us more details on the Herc motor and what needed to be done to install it.

Sorry missed your post on how you got the truck already repowered. So never mind that part of my question...

I did not apply the bedliner. It was done a shop here in NH. The liner is pre-heated to 155 degrees and then applied with a spray gun. Guarenteed for life! Cost, $479.00.

Reminds me of the time I purchased my new Ford p/u and thought it would be good to put a Rhino type liner in the bed since it was so nice and pretty being that it was brand new, and I was going to be beating the heck out of it.

I took it to a shop and the guy said he could do it for $xxx. I asked him how he preps the surface. He replied that he sands the paint finish off, scuffs the surface and sprays the liner. I asked if it would cost more in the future to prep the bed after I've beaten it up a bit. He responded that he still has the same amount of prep work, so the price would be the same.

Eleven years later and I've never thought a second about putting a spray liner in the bed of that truck and it still looks pretty good for a work truck. I guess that I saved myself a lot of money.
