Default Transmission tunnel cover captured nuts

The never ending project truck for Sermis is getting closer to being done. We went to put the tunnel cover on the other day and realized all but 1 of the captured nuts are missing. They are not the type normally used for fenders and such and I haven't been able to find similar ones. Anyone have a line on what they are called or a source for replacements?

    Thanks.

I'm not remember what they looked like, but I think what you want is a cage nut, weldable. Or maybe your thinking of a u -nut or j-nut?

The truck is in my class and the school camera is broken. I might get a picture of my truck one evening.

    Transmission tunnel cover nuts?

Here is a listing of the known and recorded fasteners for a M715:

    I hope this helps.

For what its worth, you need to turn the truck upside down to install these : )

You guys have always bent over backwards to help me and I am a firm believer in "Pay it forward". I saved that thread because my cover is missing half of the darn nuts! I just keep forgetting to get some.

And the resurrection of this thread got me off of my arse. Since my transmission cover is missing every other screw, I ordered these guys from Fastenal. Guess what? The store is just two miles from my home! Easy to do; fast shipping and now I have a new store (which is actually hidden in the woods) to get specialty items from. Thanks again for that link!

We installed the ones I ordered yesterday. Now to find out what the next part we need to figure out is.

Ha, ha, ha isn't that the truth. Gosh, when your were in the army, could you have gotten things as quickly and accurately as we are able to do today?

    Frighting, isn't it...
