    Breaker tripping means change switch...just going to LED lights might temporarily stop or mask the problem...but it needs a new switch...last thing you want is the dreaded wiring fire...a whole new harness is a much bigger job than a new switch...

    If one goes from 24V to 12V, you are doubling the current through the switch.
