    Unhappy Lack of forward movement

While attepting to free Charlie from a deep crevasse( I had to climb up out of Charlie with a springover and 38's!!!)I shifted to reverse and dumped the clutch when KABOOM!!! all movement stopped and a loud grinding could be heard from transfer area. upon dissassembly i discovered that the sleeve between the chev 4spd output shaft and the 205 transfer input shaft had exploded in the adapter. Is this commen and is this part readily available?

I don't remember the number for that part, but it does fail. I "think" it is either a dealer only thing now days or something the specialty 4x4 shops have. I could be off on that, but I know they are out there.
Remember if you didn't build it you can't call it yours.

I take it you have a married trans/t-case, SM465trans and NP205 case. This is a problem with them. I believe its a 10 spline sleeve that ties the two together. Any wear on output shaft of trans and input shaft of t-case makes the problem worse. I believe Advance Adaptors makes a replacement for them. I got a 78 chevy 3/4 ton pickup cheap this way 10-12 years ago and I think I got the sleeve at a junkyard or a dealer. Can't remember which. Hope this helps.
