Thats not a Powr-Loc. I have great pic's of a D60 one at work. I won't be back there till thurs.

A Powr-Loc has a very cylindrical case. Meaning there are no casting valleys for the case bolts. A Powr-loc case bolts bolt in through the end not almost half way into the case as seen above.

Another tell tale sign is a PL has "V" shaped ends on the spidergear shafts. They sit in a case hardened "V" shaped valley you can't miss from others. Thats is what makes the PL so cool, the way the tire spins and ramps (clamps)the spidergear and clutch set tighter offering more traction. The heat treating has always been a very obvious blue color surrounding the spider gear shaft. There is a BUNDLE of information on PL's at vernco.com

    Anyway, thats not a powr-loc...

I have the same junk in my rear end. I had the back end jacked up and when I turned one wheel, the other turned the opposite direction. That's open behavior, is it not?

Bob is right, it's a stock open unit.

Always possible someone installed a detroit nospin "lunch box" inside it...hard to tell by looking at it.

Stock, with the tire off the ground, spin one tire one direction and the other will spin the opposite direction. With a no spin they will spin the same direction.

Regardless, the picture is a stock carrier.
