Thread: 24V electric fuel pump?

    Default 24V electric fuel pump?

I have been having trouble starting my 715. It doesn't seem to be getting any fuel up to the carb. I had been starting it about once a month last summer and fall then one day right before winter it wouldn't start. The guy before me rebuilt the fuel pump and added extra fuel filters in line to protect the pump.
Has anyone tried using a 24V electric fuel pump on these trucks?

Yes, 24V pumps are out there and they work. However, have you check the "sock" in the fuel tank? They will clog up on you and no fuel pump is going to be able to pull fuel out. Try blowing back into the tank and see if air gets through.
Remember if you didn't build it you can't call it yours.

I'm using a Walbro FRB-2 24V marine fuel pump on my 6.2 conversion.

Thanks guys...I'll try clearing the lines/sock/filters back to the tank.
If that doesn't work I'll try and find a 24v pump
