    Default 24 volt alt

    I am replacing the 24 volt generator with a 24 volt alt. what wires need to be hooked up to the alt ? all original wires ? Just getting my m715 running. I am a newbee . thanks

    The M715 family of vehicles has a 24 volt alternator stock. It was one the first 24 volt military vehicles to have an alternator instead of the old generator. So you would be replacing and alternator with another alternator.

    Unless someone changed the original alternator for a generator...not a good move but possible...

    The military units all have a tag on them stating what they are...alternator or generator...and the amp output...along with other info...
    Check and see what it says it is before yanking it out.
