Thread: Spark Plug Wires

    Default Spark Plug Wires

Have a curious question about my wires...was wondering if they need replaced often....the end that connects to the distributor looks new, but the other end looks a bit rusted. Do you think I need new wires or just simply clean them up? Thanks

I would think that the coil (spring of wire) condition would be a better indicator of wear rather that the nut that you tighten on. I'm not really sure how long they tend to last, but you're going to want to get all you can out of them as they are very expensive for a new set.

Also, there is a good writeup on here of how you can modify regular (civilian type) spark plug wires to work with the stock ignitor.
