    Default Brakes

Hey guys. I just purchased a 67 M715 that needs some tlc. I am going to tackle the brakes (stock axles). My question is, are the m715 brakes and j truck brakes the same. I priced out the brakes from Memphis equipment and they were $$$. The j truck brakes were much more reasonable. I pulled the drums off and they didn't look any bigger than what j trucks have. I need shoes, springs, wheel cylinders and hoses.

    google M715 brakes E350

You'll find out that a common wheel cylinder with slight modification is readily available at your local NAPA in-stock and at much lower cost.

You'll also learn that a corvette master cylinder is available too.

Drums, shoes etc I cannot help you with.

As far as shoes go, you are better off having a local truck place reline them.

    drums on the M715 are 13". A j-truck is probably 11".

I had a 66 J-3000 back in the early 80's and it had 12" brakes which was the biggest brake option at the time.
