Thread: Brake light switch

  1. #1

    Default Brake light switch

    Moving the brake light switch from the orginial spot to under the dash on the brake pedal. Was hoping someone has an easy solution. Looked in the NAPA book for some ideas. None really jumped at me. Pictures and part number if possible..

    I used the Emgo Brake Light Switch 46-42510 from amazon. Mounted one side to the brake pedal, the other side to the dash and wired it up. Im currently at work and dont have any pictures but I will try and take one when i get home.

    That's seems like a simple solution. And I thought what I did was simple but that doesn't look like it requires any welding.

    I used a brake light switch from a Jeep CJ and welded a tab to the steering column on my last 2 trucks.

    It took some searching but I found these:

    And if I recall correctly the brake light switch wires were long enough to pull from their original location and reach the new switch.

    I cut off the stock connector and crimped on a female spade connector to the wire.

    Link to Amazon for spade connectors;
