Default Popping clutch petal?

Had the clutch, throw out bearding replaced a 6 months ago. The problem I'm having is the clutch petal is in the normal position, work the gears fine, than the petal goes limp, still works than it will pop back to the normal position. Can duplicate by popping the clutch petal.

Any thoughts?

The works are getting jammed up somewhere ...
Have an assistant work the pedal while you inspect. See if the bell crank or the pedal itself is catching on something. Or maybe the spring catching?
If everything outside the bell housing looks copasetic then it'd have to be the fork/throw out bearing getting in a bind.
It's been many moons since mine has had the stock drivetrain, don't really remember specifics about the fork assembly.

I think Von is on to something: it sounds like the spring might be binding up somewhere in its travel.
