Looking for known registration numbers

...I have since found a data base that has quite a large bit of info on the registration numbers compared to the vin numbers. What is funny is that your vin number is out of order for being a 1968 truck. The vast majority of 1968 trucks start around the 22000 vin number. And there are even some late 1967 trucks that have 68' style registration numbers meaning they were built at the tail end of 67' but not accepted by the Army until 68'. But what's funny is that the closest vin on my list to yours
is 19271 and it also shows a 1968 build date but has a hood registration number of 3G0617 which is a 67' style hood number. Makes me wonder if there was a group of units from around then that got assigned the registration numbers but didn't pass final inspection and had to go back through to be refitted with something which pushed their completed date back into early 1968. Is yours a 100 amp truck? that might be what caused the delay. anyway it looks like yours should be 3G0620.

Let me possibly reinforce that theory. If you look at the serial number of my truck, it is nowhere near what a 1969 should be. Complicating that is the fact that it has no governor or air cleaner on the hood as a 1969 would have. That eventually led to the conclusion that my truck started out as an M724.

I remember when we got brand new M715 trucks in Bremerhaven. I was one of the troops that drove them off of the boat and quickly noticed that something was different. Governor! They were new 1969 trucks. My two previous two trucks were 1967, Ft. Sill and Utah and 1968 Neu Ulm, Germany.
