As far as I know you will be the first using that setup, I would be concerned about the large tire on the small axle more than the gear ratio. There again they run 38s on 1/2 ton trucks all the time. So if your building a daily driver for road driving break out the tape measure it knows if it will work.
I'm running a 3.54 3/4 ton set out off a j20 with 36" h1 army tires. (full floater)The gearing is fine for a daily driver but for any real off road running this setup would eat driveshafts. The good thing was it was a easy swap. The rear end was a direct bolt up. The truck was one with fender flairs I got them from. The older jeep axles were narrower. Good Luck
