CUCVs have two 12V altinators on them. They cobble the system in a way so that it supplies a 12V system for lights, fan motor, regular chebby electrics. And then runs them in serries to make 24V for the motor and military equipment like the black out lights, towning receptical for trailers etc. The motor its self use 24V for the glow plugs and the starter.

If I were to put a cucv motor into a M715 I would just go with the 24V system for the starter, glow plugs and off course the rest of the truck.

Another alternative is to remove the two altinators and replace them with one 24V military one like the one on your 203 motor. The only part you would need to hunt down would be the mounting brackets off of a HMMWV engine since it is the same motor.
