Got the bellhousing on the trans and the rear trans mount reinforced. Will post some pics of my mod in a few.

Now I need to find some replacement trans mount rubber bushings - the ones on the bolts. Mine are shot.

Here is the pic of the modified mount for the trans. It fits right up tight to the top of the trans and is bolted to the extra "ear" on the back.

It should help with the rotational force that causes the two bolts on the back to wallow out their threads. One of mine needed to be helicoiled when the trans was rebuilt.

    Thumbs down

Seems like everytime I make a step forward I end up taking two back. Everything I order is backordered. Nothing fits when I finally get it.

Dang - I think I am over this project. Anyone want it? I am really tempted to just throw it up on the for sale board.

What parts do you need? I think Napa should have everthing for a 360? They are a dime a dozen. Just be glad you gained that half step forward. Been there before myself. Just don't set a time frame. Work on it when you feel like it. Try to keep it enjoyable. Be happy if you accomplished anything. Don't set any large goals. Just set little tiny ones. Like I'll clean this today, paint it tomorrow, that way all the little things will finally end up being the final plan.

i agree with Todd. i have big goals for mine, but i don't get in a big hurry. then it seems like while i am waiting for the next "big" thing i get alot of smaller stuff done that i may have otherwise skipped over. and sometimes its neccesary to just let it lay for a few days, or weeks. there have been times when i don't touch mine for 3-4 weeks, then you actually feel like its fun when you get back to it, not a job.

I ordered some gaskets and some stainless stuff online. Both backordered. I prob need to just put it back together and stop being so particular about the parts. I wont really care a year from now.

Depends. It's sort of a self-fulfilling prophecy: If you don't get what you want to do it the way you want you won't care a year from now. If you DO get them, you'll still be proud of the results far longer than that.

hey jester- everyone is right- just be happy with what you can get done- pushing for un realistic goals makes the project un enjoyable. i am doing an m715, an m38a1, 67 chevy & building a halftrack out of 4 parts trucks. i am puting a 250 chevy in my 715 & after two weeks of searching the country over for the correct style of engine mount adapters that bolt to the block that fit the novack kit, i found them at a ww2 veterans junk yard 4 miles from here. he said they have been hanging up there for 20 years. so it will come together when the stars & moon, or the garbage truck or whatever is all lined up & feel like working. later!

I got the motor and trans in the truck to put the motor mounts in. Got them bolted up today. Gonna weld them too tomorrow.

Will post up some pics tomorrow as well.

Did everything line up OK? Stock trans in stock location, motor positioned to use 3 bolts already there? I think I drilled for the fourth and then welded accross the top. Wish I could lend a hand I've been extremely busy on the weekends trying to clear brush, cut wood and get new fence installed. We are going to do some horse boarding soon and I need to ready the property and the barn, extra cash can't hurt. And I'm now back to work full time, need to make hay. Talk to you soon.
